I would like you to meet the ‘E’ family. Their photo sitting was a little out of the ordinary. First of all, they live quite a ways from Edwardsville. I can shoot on location, but Erica had seen some of the pictures from my Edwardsville locations and was interested in coming all the way to me for this shoot. Secondly, she was willing to give me complete control over location and props.
We started the shoot at a farm, but CRAZY wind came up out of no where and it was difficult to get anything without swirly hair flying all over the place. So, the family trusted me as we moved on to a second location. Second location went great! We found shelter from the wind and some great evening light to work with. Erica brought all of her daughter’s bedding for her bed shot (which I LOVE!), so we were able to create a great memory that they will hold on to as her daughter gets older and stops sleeping with loveys and baby dolls. We broke out the retro couch and got some great moments exchanged between the crew.
Since the first location was such a windy flop, I asked if they could stay a bit longer for a third location. This is where trust became a big deal! 
I took them to an alley… Yeah, you read me right. I took this wonderful family who traveled almost an hour to get here to an alley. But it was perfect! The kids were relaxed, the light was soft, the colors were fantastic.
Erica, thanks for giving me control and trusting my judgements about props and location. Thanks for being flexible with me. Thanks for coming ALL the way from your place to mine. I am honored! Thanks for totally rocking the outfits and bedding! I wish you could style all of my sittings!
